The Speed door style from German Kitchen brand Nobilia, and available at iHome Interiors is a minimalist slab door style available in Ivory Softmatt, Satin Grey, White Softmatt, Premium White and two textured wood reproduction finishes, namely Montana Pine and shown here Sanremo Oak 261.

This kitchen style is a new one from Nobilia and it encompasses characteristics such as shallow height under counter units, and a modular feel that have been popular with the European markets of Germany, France and Italy and have made an impact on the UK market from last year.

With more and more homeowners opting for open plan kitchens and combining the traditional living room or dining room and kitchen into one, the floor space available to the kitchen has increased and along with it, less of a need for traditional kitchen planning.

Undercounter base units were a cornerstone or kitchen design but now there are so many storage options such as large drawer packs, pull out larders and such, were the deepest darkest recesses of the base units are no longer out of reach, the need for the full height base unit has diminished and as this design proves, a minimalist and uncluttered approach is visually stunning and different to the eye.

The Sanremo textured Oak door finish complete with the low profile units, and broken only by the wall covering and decorative storage cupboards is a brilliant demonstration of what can be achieved by the minimalist and contemporary influences from the continent.
